It will never be the same

"No man ever steps in the same river twice.
Because it is not the same river.
And he is not the same man."
(Heraclitus - Greek Philosopher)

As discussions about organisations reopening and people returning to work ramp up, this interesting little quote came to mind.
It's not just the work environments that will be different with possible distancing and different working hours.
The people returning to these environments may not be the same people that left the building two months ago.
Their perspectives may have shifted, their social needs, priorities in life, expectations of employers etc may all be different.
What all of this will look like is complex and unknown. It will change and emerge, it wont work the same everywhere and there is unlikely to be a single solution that we can just adopt.
With that said, it feels like developing an understanding of complex systems will become even more important and something we hope to share more with you in future posts.
